IrisPR has been named a Bronze winner in the Most Innovative Product of the Year - SMB category in Best in Biz Awards 2015.

To say this is a meaningful award is an understatement. One reason: it’s the only independent business awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts. If you’re not familiar with Best in Biz Awards, they recognize top companies, executives, and products for their business success. No favorites are played - an independent panel of 46 judges from highly recognized newspapers, business, consumer and technology publications, radio outlets, and analyst firms are the ones doing the evaluating. Public and private companies of all sizes and industries from all over the U.S. and Canada compete.

The second reason: winning this award feels amazing because at IrisPR, innovation is in our blood, our minds, our hearts. We want PR teams to break out of spreadsheets and destructive old-school tactics like mass pitching. We want PR pros of all experience levels and situations – in-house, agency, veteran, just starting out – to take their career to a place where they develop rewarding influencer relationships and experience easier, more efficient workflows. That’s the potential we see in PR management software and that's why this quote from Nicole Taylor of Business News Daily resonated with us:

“The entrants in the Most Innovative Company of the Year category truly understand what it means to bring something new and different to the table in a world where most companies just piggyback off something someone else has done. It was refreshing to read about these great companies working hard to get ahead of the demands of their respective industries.”

That last phrase is exactly what we do at IrisPR every day. We’re always looking for new ways to meet our customers’ needs and help them stay competitive and successful with PR software. We’re definitely not looking to “piggyback” (to use Taylor’s words) on anything else. We’re about changing PR and media relations in radical, positive ways that benefit everyone – PR teams, brands, the media and influencers alike.

Which brings us to another quote, this one from Mathew Schwartz of InfoRiskToday:

“In the more than 15 years that I have been covering enterprise and consumer technology, it’s been fascinating to watch “old school” tools and technologies evolve for the cloud era. What struck me most about this year’s entries in the Best in Biz Awards were the businesses that — brand names or not, long-established players or even more recently birthed organizations — continue to grapple with how to best reinvent themselves, and by doing so best tap the latest technology possibilities and capabilities for better attracting, retaining and serving their customers.”

Everyone likes being recognized. So sure, that part of winning a Best in Biz Bronze award is pretty sweet. But the real thrill is in knowing that we really are doing something that matters here. Something that’s changing the face of PR and the careers of PR pros.
